Greetings from London! I'm here for the World Cup festivities, but let's not kid ourselves — I'm here fort the spas too. Not really the obvious combination, however, surprisingly they go very well together. Take a long day of drinking, pair it with BBQ food, dehydration from the flight and jetlag and you are (read: I am) just asking for haggard-looking skin. While my first instinct is to book myself into a spa, there just hasn't been time. Yes, water helps, but my favorite remedy for effects of international party hopping is salmon. Years ago I read the book by Dr. Perricone about the benefits of salmon for your skin. The good fats not only make you feel human again, but it also works to repair the dehydration and put a little color back in your cheeks. I swear by it! My boyfriend and I popped into the Intercontinental Park Lane for brunch the morning after the USA v England game and I was very, very pleased to find some of the yummiest salmon sashimi I have ever had. The perfect hangover food! While Dr. Perricone recommends a very healthy dose of salmon every week, I would say it's most important when you travel. Your skin is going to thank you for it!
